You can't be there, and not staying for more than half a day. Hence, the title.
Seriously guys. If you plan to pay a short visit, just for one or two hours maybe, just don't even go...hahahha. You'll definitely 'waste' your whole day there.
Oh!
Hi, by the way. What an intro I got there. So now, for the real intro. Excuse my kinda rude intro earlier.
So, alkisahnya, pagi Sabtu lepas Nee (my best friend. Whoever reads my old blog would know her sebab she always pops here and there in my posts) suddenly text me, giving me her "watchu doing?". Well, you'll know what she's up to when she brings that up so suddenly like that - most of the time. Told her otw pegi opis sebab got things to handle. Her "ooooooo, afterward?" is kinda a giveaway. Nak ajak keluar lettewwwww.
Sebab aku punya urusan tatau takes how long, so we temporarily settled for 3pm for our meet up. And instead of suggestion awal ke WePlayGames, we decide to pegi Pasar Seni jek since masa terhad. And Nee tak pernah pegi Pasar Seni katanya. To be honest, aku pon tatau pebenda ada kat Pasar Seni tu so boleh la kalau nk try usha.
In the middle of my urusan, aku text Zura ajak pi WePlayGames since Nee ada mention dia ajak Ira jugak masa first mention of WePlayGames awal-awal text paginya tu. (p/s: Ira adik Nee, rakan sebaya and schoolmate Zura adik aku tu). Text Nee back suggest pegi WePlayGames. Reply kiri kanan Me-Zura, Me-Nee (and Nee-Ira I guess), plus duk settle urusan aku lagi (what a morning fuhhhhhh), finally decide pegi WePlayGames, meet up at LRT Kerinchi and we'll head to Cyber by her car.
Wow intro jek tiga paragraph. Aku kalau dah diberi peluang membebel, memang tak lepas peluang langsung hmmmmm.
Back to WePlayGames.
First of all.
Read here for my first WePlayGames experience.
Here for Nee's blog post of our first WePlayGames visit.
And here for Nee's POV of our visit last Saturday.
A brief introduction to WePlayGames (WPG) in case you are too lazy to click any of the links above, WPG is a boardgame-cafe yang perkenalkan konsep kau main boardgame sambil lepak-lepak makan minum gituh. Brilliant idea I may say (again). Aku memang attracted betul ngan idea bijak ni. Lepas ni dah takyah pening port lepak/outing with besties dah. Pegi jek Tamarind Square, naik level 2. WPG loacated right above BookXcess (the most awesome bookstore brand ever, and branch yang kat TS ni open 24h hokehhhhhh).
Some basic info.
(p/s: we tried Hazelnut Lava Croissant on our first visit, and I don't think I'm gonna repeat that order. BUT, it might be because I'm not a fan of chocolate.)
available desserts on last Saturday. |
This was the package that we took on our first visit. |
Now, let me explain this. Sebab adik aku salah paham masa aku explain kat dia hari tu lol.
What it means here is, one meal/dessert + one drink = 1 free game.
Nee bought croissant + hot drink = one free game for her.
I bought cake + cold drink = one free game for me.
BUT, that doesn't necessarily mean two games for both of us.
Sebab, kalau dia amik game A, aku amik game B, and we play both games together, that equal to two games for both of us. Get it? Unless dia main game A alone, aku pon main game B alone, then ye kitorang boleh amik two different games..hahahhaha...
So we settled for a two-players game on our first visit, and play as many rounds as we want.

Tanpa segan silu amik pakej unlimited gaming tu. Konon nak main banyak-banyak-banyakkkkkk game. Sudahnya, lebih kurang 5-6 jam kat situ, main dua game jek..hahahaha...
Anddddddd, complimentary drinks tu limited to certain drinks jek. And kitorang tak diberitahu apakah air-air tersebut. So all of us, empat-empat ketul ni amik air yang kena upgrade. Tengok bill masa on the way balik dah, baru perasan. Sila gelak.
Back to our games experience. Our first game was this:
And this is the very reason, the main cause why oh why kitorang sempat main dua game jek. Half of our time there duk mengadap game ni jek. Sesungguhnya aku lupa apa nama dia. And it is soooooo not my kind of game. I don't really enjoy Monopoly, or Saidana kalau versi Malaysianya. Or Jutaria kalau versi murah...hahahhaha..
Konsep game ni lebih kurang macam tu la. Build your roads, settlement, and cities. But instead of money, we are using resources yang kita collect throughout the game by throwing dice. Kat board tu ada base resources, and kita letak nombor kat resources base tu. Nombor yang kita dapat dari dice tadi represent numbers on the board. Owners of roads, settlement or cities yang neighbour dengan number from the dice boleh collect resources tu. Kumpul resources, beli roads and settlements, or upgrade your settlement to cities. Ada few other rules and regulation tapi I won't explain it here. Sila google teeheeee...
the start of the game..masing-masing still try to adapt the RnR |
nampak dia punya semangat tu? siap check manual hahahaha.. |
dan wefie itu perluuu hahahaha |
And, here we go. The winner of the game. |
Our second game was Coup. I REALLY ENJOY THIS ONE.
Quoting WPG's staff, it's a lying game. And indeed, to play this you need to bluff, a lot. But more important than kena pandai bluff, kena be confident. Tak kesah lah time ko bluff or time ko honest, yang penting confident level kena tinggi melangit. Baru orang tak berani nak tuduh ko bluffing..hahahaha.
muka penipu-penipu berjaya dan tak berjaya di Sabtu yang lalu..hahaha |
Basically, for this game, korang akan diberi two cards each, pastu balance kad letak kat tengah. Kad-kad tu adalah characters in Coups. Each character ada kelebihan masing-masing. For example, some characters can kill people, and another character cannot be killed.
And the best part is, you can bluff that you are holding a certain character, even if you don't. Tapi kalau korang dah bluff, pastu your attacker tak percaya, they can request you to prove yourself. If you ARE bluffing, you lose a character. If you do have the character, the attacker loses a character. Pastu korang boleh tukar character yang korang dah prove kan tadi tu with a new card from the deck - given that korang prove korang betul la.
I mentioned a character who can kill people earlier. That's an Assassin. But, you still can kill someone even if you are not an Assassin. Just pay for 7 coins, then you can request for an assassination.
Ira boleh dikategorikan sebagai bluffer paling berjaya. Muka takde perasaan memang level dewa-dewa. Adik aku paling inesen level kejujuran terserlah di wajah. Kakak-kakak ni level banyak makan garam tapi tak nak berlagak...hahahaha.
We played Coup for two or three rounds before kitorang balik sebab it is considered too late. Kalo tak semua tak nak berganjak lagi, nak try game lain pulak...hmmmm.
again, mesyuarat bincang RnR macam bincang strategi nak pegi perang.. |
tapi sudah pasti visit tersebut tak berakhir dengan Coup jek. Sesi bergambar tak sudah dulu la before balik :p |
Jemput la datang ke WePlayGames. They have lots of options for boards game and with variations for numbers of players too. Staf dorang pon sangatlah membantu. If korang newbie macam aku, tak yah termenung depan almari lama-lama macam aku duk baca kotak satu, satu. Just call for their staff and ask for help/suggestion. Pastu kalau takde geng nak ajak pi WPG, boleh ajak aku. Just bare in mind yang aku ni newbie kuasa tujuh tau...hahahha...
